The app is therefore rich in global reports and Terminal Area Forecasts, just not so many for our own country. Most countries see weather reports as being in the public interest so make them freely available. If you live in or near one of those airports, you're in luck! The developer has no control over this. Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch are available because of international aviation requirements. As for small number of reports/forecasts available for New Zealand - in simple terms you can blame the government that commercialised both the weather service and civil aviation. The app decodes the coded weather reports and forecasts, so you don't need to be technical to understand them - but it does help. It is of course targeted at pilots, but is also useful for travellers who want to see a detailed description of the weather at many airports around the world. AeroWeather Pro was one of the first apps I bought and I'm impressed by the regular improvements the developer has made to what was already a great app.
